Local leisure facilities include golf courses and other sports like tennis and squash. Several day excursions are on offer to places of interest, like the mountain-top fortress of Guadalest, Europe's largest palm forest, and the nearby ancient city of Murcia. Families enjoy the Moraira go-kart track, or an outing to the Aqualandia water theme park near the large resort of Benidorm.

Las Fuentes del Algar

Well worth a visit on a hot day! Just off the motorway @ Calpe one junction up Salida 64.

The ‘Algar Water Falls’ are found 2.5 km from the village of Callosa d’Ensarria, at the source of the river from which it's name is derived. The region is well known as a large fruit growing area and in particular for its groves of nisperos.

Once you have gained entrance to the waterfalls, you will feel the fresh clean air and hear the noise of the tumbling waters. You then arrive at the main pool to where the largest of the waterfalls cascades down. Many people take their first dip here, but do remember that the water is icy cold, even in the hot summer months. This is always a welcome relief from the heat!
